A shout-out to Waymond and Crew on the night shift at Norman Regional Hospital

While being treated from Saturday September 9th for bleeding ulcers in my stomach and esophagus, receiving an emergency operation to fix a groin hernia, Waymond was my nurse during the night shift 7pm-7am. He and his crew helped to speed up my recovery enough to make it possible for me to return home on Wednesday September 13th, where I have believed I can more comfortably complete my recovery.

Waymond has been suffering from Ragweed allergies. Yep, the allergy forecast for Norman Oklahoma is HIGH Ragweed until a cold front and possible rain on September 28th in the long-range forecast.

I was having a bad cough, and Waymond recommended Halls Tropical Fruit cough drops – gave me two to sample. Excellent flavor, and did a better job knocking down my cough than any other cough drops tried before. I found and bought a package at Homeland grocery store very early today, walking over there at about sunrise.

Thanks for the excellent service, Waymond, and others working the night shift at Norman Regional Hospital – I was in room 3932, September 9 to 13.

Here’s a music video of a time we can look forward to when we can be sure there will be fewer allergies…

I’m ready to “sail away” from all allergy seasons!

I especially like the “Celtic Woman” violin player…

As you may have guessed, “Celtic Woman” is one of my favorite performers and music. Good for the health of the soul.

As for the song “Amazing Grace” here is a fun version performed by the Maverick Choir, which helps to put me in a better mood…

As you know actor James Garner, the original Maverick (sitting near center front under a black hat in the above video) was born here in Norman Oklahoma. Here is a photo of me during summer 2008 at his statue. Click on image to see full size…

As for my departure from the hospital Wednesday September 13th, “This Old Man Came Rolling Home…” Here’s the old song known since childhood, performed in more recent times by a famous performer…

Near as I can tell, even with certain pain relievers, nighttime at Norman Regional Hospital is not like nighttime on the City of New Orleans, but here is a good performance of that song…

Here’s a “Final Song” for this special posting, which is the music played during the final scene of one of my favorite movies – Master and Commander Far Side of the World – in which Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany perform Boccherini’s La Música Nocturna de Madrid…

It is said a picture may be worth a thousand words, but when images and words are not enough the emotions you feel provided by a melody may convey much more. Here’s a longer version of the music, which perhaps in an odd way feels like it is part of my soul – the music of my soul, my spirit, and the nature of my true personality – the real me that survives physical death…

…With that in mind, my belief is the physical body is like a car and the driver is the soul, At age 61 now, I’m in need of a new mechanic or a new body. We are all just visiting this planet. As spiritual beings we need physical transportation while visiting this world, like someone traveling by jet to another city and then renting a car upon arrival – which is why I speculate abortion can screw up the plans of some soul travelers – arriving to discover their reserved car has been destroyed.

I’m a Spiritual Universalist and Trinitarian Universalist. As an Independent voter, my politics averages me out to be a Centrist. My liberal side is anchored in science fiction to have the mental freedom to explore many possibilities, while my conservative side is anchored in proven science.

In the far-flung universe the inhabited worlds are so far apart that conventional space travel – even with FTL drive – is not practical. Therefore, souls travel from one world to another to be born into the intelligent life forms of those worlds – born into bodies made for those worlds and growing up learning their culture, history, and language – then to take that knowledge as cargo back to their home worlds to be born again into their own life forms. So it is with some humor that I speculate some science fiction authors have the souls of aliens. Where else would such ideas come from? Perhaps geniuses like Einstein had the soul of a traveler from another world, bringing knowledge to Earth to be shared for progress.

We have the ability to use computers to create virtual reality, in which we create characters, avatars, who can be killed, while we live on unharmed in the so-called real world. What if the physical universe is the virtual reality for spiritual beings living in the spiritual universe on spiritual worlds similar to planets? We are their avatars for them to function in physical form while in the physical universe. Here, they can be killed in physical form, while living on unharmed in their spiritual form. We are them in physical form. They are us. So it is with some humor that I consider maybe God really did create the heavens and earth in only six days, and did so with his personal desktop computer!

I do believe all souls are originally born in the spiritual heaven, and upon physical death have the option to return to life in the spiritual heaven. Reincarnation is not the norm but is possible under special circumstances. When I die, I’ll probably head up that way, and then end up landing back on Earth, so I’ve decided to add one more music video to this posting. Norman Greenbaum sings Spirit in the Sky with the space shuttle for background in the following music video…

Farewell – may you fare well, and may we meet again in happier times.
