Today I’m watching “TEXAS RISING” History Channel 10-hour miniseries marathon on STARZ Encore

I saw a commercial on The History Channel for “TEXAS RISING” for when it would first be broadcasted – 25 May 2015, and then was not able to see it for several reasons. I forgot about it until about a month ago, and was going to buy it on DVD, not then finding it in any TV listings including On Demand. This Sunday morning 18 June 2017, I was checking COX TV listings for today and just happened to notice it listed – to be shown by STARZ Encore, which I do have access to. Just in time, since it runs from 9:00am CT to 4:49 – unlike The History Channel without any commercials.

Based on the Texas Revolution against Mexico and how the Texas Rangers were created.

Stars include Bill Paxton, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Ray Liotta, Brendan Fraser, Olivier Martinez, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is Captain Deaf Smith in this miniseries. I was already a fan from him staring in the 2009 movie Watchman as Edward Blake aka The Comedian. I almost didn’t recognize him when in 2016 he became a star in the AMC TV series The Walking Dead as Negan.
