Political Armageddon, Comey Testimony – Will Trump Presidency end with compromising videos including “golden showers” and Russian hookers?

Trump:  “I had nothing to do with Russians, had not been involved with hookers in Russia, and had always assumed I was being recorded when in Russia.” Take a closer look at that quote if true. At a minimum, it is an admission he has been there. “…when in Russia.” Previously claiming he hadn’t, right? No business in or with Russia. No Russian connection. Apparently not true. So what was he there for and when? Maybe Putin offered hookers to Trump so that he could play with their tweets. Putin is like Captain Hook, and Trump is like a bad Peter Pan who never grew up in the political version of Neverland.

From the beginning of the Trump campaign there have been such revelations as to cause people to speculate the newest revelation – each new one worse than the previous – would be enough to end it, and yet Trump survived and won the election. Mixed in with such revelations, Trump’s own actions, his own words – usually in tweets, should have been enough to end it – would have ended it for any normal politician. Trump himself speculated, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.” – said at a campaign rally. What could be worse than that? There are worse possibilities. Much worse.

As for the Russian connection, from Reuters: The Watergate scandal pales in comparison to events in Washington surrounding U.S. President Donald Trump and alleged links between his campaign and Russia, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said on Wednesday. Clapper questioned Trump’s continued pro-Russian stance, saying his sharing of intelligence with Russia “reflect either ignorance or disrespect, and either is very problematic”. “I think if you compare the two that Watergate pales, really, in my view, compared to what we’re confronting now,” Clapper told reporters in Canberra, Australia’s capital. The break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate Hotel in Washington in 1972, and subsequent cover-up, brought down former Republican U.S. President Richard Nixon in 1974.

I first heard mention of “Russian hookers” late afternoon Wednesday June 7 – about 12 hours ago when I was briefly checking CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC, as well as other sources online. Comey had released his memos in advance of the hearing at which he is to testify – 8:00am CT 9:00am ET Thursday June 8 – about 7 hours from the hour I’m writing this. I couldn’t write earlier as I was too ill, suffering from a major flare-up of pain and bleeding ulcers in my stomach I already have, triggered and made worse by possible food poisoning. Then as I was recovering I watched a couple of 4-hour movies of two Dean Koontz novels. After those, I turned on CNN and began watching the repeat of the primetime broadcast Wednesday night June 7. From that, I checked other news sources online.

The most stunning excerpts come from Newsweek, as follows…

  • President Donald Trump repeatedly asked then-FBI Director James Comey to drop an investigation into his former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and to pledge his allegiance. He also brought up the subject of Russian “hookers.”
  • “He said he had nothing to do with Russia, had not been involved with hookers in Russia, and had always assumed he was being recorded when in Russia,” read just one startling section of Comey’s opening statement to the Senate Intelligence Committee, released Wednesday.
  • The comments allegedly came in a March 30 phone call Trump placed to Comey as he described the “cloud” that he said was impeding his ability to lead the country. The conversation took place two-and-a-half months after classified documents were presented to then-President Barack Obama and President-elect Trump featuring allegations that Russian operatives had highly compromising information on the Republican.
  • The report was based on memos from former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele, who once served in Moscow, on a report into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The veracity of the memos was not verified but quickly gained the title the “golden shower memos” because of one particularly salacious detail contained within them.
  • They describe videos taken of Trump in a Moscow hotel room in 2013 together with Russian prostitutes. And not just together with them but “employing a number of prostitutes to perform a ‘golden showers’ [urination] show in front of him,” according to the memos.
  • And it didn’t end there. The act occurred in the presidential suite of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, where Trump was said to be aware that the president and first lady Michelle Obama had stayed on one of their official trips to Russia. The “[perverted] conduct” was said to be a deliberate act of “defiling” the bed on which the Obamas had slept.
  • Video of the incident was collected by Russian authorities, it is alleged, in order to obtain “kompromat,” or compromising material, in order to blackmail Trump down the line.
  • As well as the salacious details, the memos also contained allegations of deals struck with Russian officials that could constitute bribes as well as several meetings with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign.
  • In his first press conference as president-elect, Trump denied the allegations, particularly referencing the “golden showers” episode.

IF TRUE, then this should be enough to end his presidency. Previous reports of other bad behavior including of a sexual nature involving women indicate this report of Russian hookers could be true. Further, related events could result in some campaign associates being prosecuted for treason. Although Trump has survived everything else so far, I predict the Comey testimony will mark the beginning of the end for Trump. IF the videos exist, and are released, then it certainly should be cause for impeachment. Then what? Vice President Mike Pense becomes President, or someone else in the presidential line of succession? Or might the election be overturned, giving Hillary Clinton a new chance in a new special election? What will be the consequences for Russia? Political Armageddon?

As I’m finishing this posting, CNN is back to it’s early live show with updates 2:00am CT 3:00am ET. Comey testimony begins in 6 hours, live on C-Span, CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. Now that I’m feeling slightly better, I’ll try to get some sleep and further revive before then.

There has been a report that Trump will be live-tweeting during the Comey testimony, so I will also be monitoring his Twitter account online as he reacts to the official on-the-record revelations under oath.

From the beginning, Trump has condemned US intelligence such as the CIA, FBI, and NSA, instead of working with them. Apparently, his plan was to discredit them – and believing he could, as well as replacing those with people who would support his position and be loyal to him, as part of the so-called Russian connection cover-up.

Testimony scheduled to begin at 8am CT 9am ET this Thursday morning 8 June 2017.
