Countdown to Midnight
Because of recent developments and pending threats, I’d move the so-called Doomsday Clock to just One Minute to Midnight, especially for this weekend.
Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists – Doomsday Clock – Timeline
: For the last two years, the minute hand of the Doomsday Clock stayed set at three minutes before the hour, the closest it had been to midnight since the early 1980s. In its two most recent annual announcements on the Clock, the Science and Security Board warned: “The probability of global catastrophe is very high, and the actions needed to reduce the risks of disaster must be taken very soon.” In 2017, we find the danger to be even greater, the need for action more urgent. It is two and a half minutes to midnight, the Clock is ticking, global danger looms. Wise public officials should act immediately, guiding humanity away from the brink. If they do not, wise citizens must step forward and lead the way. See the full statement
from the Science and Security Board on the 2017 time of the Doomsday Clock.
The events causing me to believe it is now closer to One Minute to Midnight are as follows from news sources…
Last Updated Apr 14, 2017 9:33 AM EDT. PYONGYANG — North Korea says it is “on the brink of war” with the U.S.. In an interview with CBS News’ Ben Tracy, one of the nation’s senior officials has accused the Trump administration of wanting to …
…The fact that North Korea is celebrating its birthday this Saturday, which happens to be between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, I believe makes it greater cause for concern. I believe the U.S. is closer than ever before to all-out war continuing with North Korea including use of nuclear weapons and the resulting loss of South Korea. Will this then expand to become a world war to include other countries such as China, Russia, and Iran? Possibly. Further, to include Israel, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, with the war against ISIS – plus an increase in terrorist attacks worldwide.
