During second grade of elementary school, 1962-1963 school year, age 6 to turning 7 on 5 March 1963, two classes were separate from the main class – art class and music class. It was the art teacher, who during January 1963, brought to school the just released song “Puff the Magic Dragon” by Peter, Paul and Mary. She asked students to make drawings about the song – the dragon and boy. So, I remember now, that’s when I first heard it.
