EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING UNTIL 8PM CDT THURSDAY 11 AUGUST 2016 – NORMAN, CLEVELAND COUNTY, OKLAHOMA

* TEMPERATURE… TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S TO LOW 100S WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES RANGING FROM 110 TO 115.

* IMPACTS… HEAT EXHAUSTION OF HEAT STROKE CAN OCCUR QUICKLY TO ANYONE WORKING OR PARTICIPATING IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE IS AN EMERGENCY… CALL 9 1 1.
