ME IN A VIDEO INTERVIEW – an excerpted and edited part of the longer interview done for Church in the Park by Jerry Worster, at Andrew’s Park just north of the Norman Public Library, Norman Oklahoma, posted by Jerry for Church in the Park website at YouTube.
Subject was about worry, stress, fear, etc. and…
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
…Another version is also noted at the end of the short video….
Food and Shelter, and The Salvation Army shelter, are parts of God’s answer – why I should not worry so much. Even so, being homeless is a very stressful situation contributing to bleeding stomach ulcers, now being treated by the Wellness Center at COCMHC.
I will become more involved with the Church in the Park people.
Presently homeless – but no longer “out-on-the-street” homeless – spending nights at Salvation Army shelter – stay extended to November 9th. Meals there, and at the Food and Shelter location – where a winter night shelter will be open starting November 1.
My present focus now is on getting an apartment, rather than just shelter for the night. After getting an apartment I might become the weekend Shelter Monitor noon-midnight Sat-Sun at the Salvation Army shelter. Leona Chapman – Director of Social Services, and Robert Douglas – Shelter Director, want to consider me for the job, but I’ll not be allowed to do it until I get an apartment. The part time job is not enough hours/pay to result in deduction or loss of my Social Security Disability benefits for at least 7 months. SSA allows 9 months equal to full time work, and I used up 2 back in 2006.
Born under a wandering star? Maybe…
