FORWARD
For the kind of story it is, The Secret Conversations of Aliens is partly inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 suspense movie Rear Window. Also, the 1967 science fiction TV series The Invaders. As well as the 1956 original and 1978 version of the movie titled Invasion of the Body Snatchers. For the kind of location where most of it takes place, it is inspired by the 2010 mini-series The Booth at the End, available [watch it free] at Hulu.com.
This story is partly about a man using EarthCam.com webcams on the Internet, who happens to overhear a bizarre conversation where there is a webcam with a microphone near a cafe patio table at Mission Beach, San Diego, California. The view is mainly of the beach and walkway, the cafe to the left of the webcam, so the people sitting at the nearest table can’t be seen. Like in The Booth at the End, the drama is not in action but within the conversation of the characters. The people sitting at that table were born on this planet, but they have the souls of reincarnated aliens who died on this planet long ago. They are talking about how they ended up being stranded here, and about their plans for building a star ship so that they can return to their home worlds.
An actual EarthCam.com webcam is used for this story, which is the Mission Beach webcam located at San Diego, California, and apparently is near a cafe patio next to the beach walkway. If you listen carefully, at the right time, you might hear aliens from another world conversing while having a drink or a meal there! How is that possible? It is possible because we have found the aliens, and they are us! One of them is a time traveler, who caused an alternate history time paradox. Once upon another timeline, Earth was known as Mirandus.
The subject of the migration of souls is not new to science fiction. It was an important subject of the 1998 TV movie Babylon 5: In the Beginning, in which the Minbari discover some Earth humans have reincarnated Minbari souls. With a bit of humor, we may speculate that some science fiction authors might have the souls of ancient aliens, and that in some of their stories they are actually writing about remembered history without realizing it to be at least partly true. Perhaps the black monoliths in the 2001: A Space Odyssey novel and 1968 movie were actually the interstellar gateways and star ships of ancient aliens who visited this planet. Arthur C. Clarke wrote in the 1982 novel 2010: Odyssey Two, “All we can imagine is probably not half as crazy as the truth.” Of that there is no doubt. Glen A. Larson, a Mormon, created Battlestar Galactica and based some of its content on Mormon beliefs. Those beliefs might tie in with the claims of ancient aliens in the “Chariots of the Gods?” book by Erich von Däniken.
This story is presented in the form of a top secret government document of the top secret project known as Timeglass, and in the form of transcripts of recorded conversations.

INTRODUCTION
Once upon another timeline, there was a planet named Mirandus. It was a distant inhabitable planet discovered and named by astronomers who were Landors [“LAN-dors”—species] of planet Langenth [“LAN-genth”]. Bracatus is the name they gave to the star—the sun—of Mirandus. Langenth is the name of one of the home planets of the Mercatorians of the Interstar Trading Worlds in the Mercatorian Empire, an empire of merchants engaged in peaceful trade.
A time traveler from the future of Mirandus traveled hundreds of light years across space and thousands of years into the past to give a warning to the Mercatorians about the expedition. It ended in a horrible disaster with the death of the explorers and the destruction of their star ship. Then events beyond their control resulted in their Mercatorian souls being trapped on planet Mirandus, where they were then reincarnated and became Mirandians. The time traveler, who has the soul of a Mercatorian, was sent by the government he works for on a Clockwork mission for the top secret project named Timeglass. By saving Mercatorians from an enemy in their time, the time traveler hoped to be able to save his world from what he believes to be the same enemy in his time. Moments after he departed from the SlipField ArchPad, built with a TimeArch in addition to a SpaceArch, the planet he knew as Earth ceased to exist, and became known as Mirandus. This is a Timeglass story.
